About Us

LA Independent Women Film Awards focuses on international and U.S. female filmmakers, screenwriters, actresses and all female artists working in media.

All film projects with a female producer, director, lead actress, writer, cinematographer and editor are qualified to submit to the festival. All topics related to women's thoughts, women's fate, life conditions, women's views and so on are welcome to participate.

The festival seeks to recognize independent shorts and features of all genres from U.S. and international filmmakers. The festival focuses on arthouse cinema and will feature and screen films every month for the award winners.

All the winners will be promoted through various online magazines in California and can request to receive certificates and laurels.

All the award winning artists of the monthly categories are further nominated by our programmers in order be an official selection of the annual festival in October. The annual festival will be a hybrid event with online screenings, announcements and networking events for artists.

The members of our jury will be award winning artists working in media from all over the world. All the monthly award winners can request to be a jury member of a new edition of the festival in order to vote for one of the categories.
